Pål Bugge Haagenrud, FNF, is a Norwegian cinematographer working across feature films and television drama.

On Netflix’s Jo Nesbø’s Detective Hole, known in Norway as Jo Nesbøs Harry Hole, Haagenrud served as Second Unit Director of Photography and as Director of Photography for Main Unit B and the Prague Unit. He also undertook selected second-unit directing assignments. His work on the series included helicopter aerial photography for the opening scene, contributions to the title sequence, and involvement in drone filming and visual effects shoots.

Haagenrud’s television work includes all three seasons and 24 episodes of EXIT, and four seasons and 40 episodes of DAG, both in collaboration with director Øystein Karlsen. His cinematography credits also include Wisting, Beforeigners, Lilyhammer and Swedish Dicks. He received the Gullruten award for cinematography for EXIT in 2020.

Earlier in his career, Haagenrud worked as a camera assistant and first assistant camera, including work with cinematographer Sven Nykvist, ASC. His subsequent career has encompassed principal cinematography, second-unit photography and camera operating on Norwegian and international productions. He is a co-founder of Moviebird Norway, a company providing camera cranes, remote heads and specialist camera movement equipment.
